Subject: thumbnails not working and windows OS: Windows XPCPU/Ram: 800mhz/384mb ram |
Comment: g'day. don't know whats happened, all of a sudden when i go to open a picture, it wont work, doesnt do anything. also the thumbnails arent previewing for any picture files, yet video files like .avi, mpeg etc the thumbnails still work. i've tried using resgustry cleaning and repair programs and nothing happens. i tried installing shimgvw.dll and that didnt work. also typing "rundll32.exe %SystemRoot%\system32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen" into run didnt bring up windows picture and fax viewer. can anyone help me at all? its not the fact i cant use windows picture and fax viewer, as i normally use Irfanview, but its pointless when i have thousands of images and cannot see them in thumbnail format to begin with. thanks, dave

Reply: (edit)If you rcently installed any Imaging software that you don't need, uninstall it. Also, in explorer make sure that your in thumbnails mode by clicking view and thumbnails. jablonskia@gmail.com

Reply: (edit)You've probably got the 'ittle Trojan/ Virus thing going around. Wander over to the "Security and Virus" forum and have a read. Haven't you seen the TV news? there's a "Massive Whinehozed vulnerability" going around.
