Anyway to restore thumbnail view in a folder used for video files that once showed a picture representing a particular video and now for unknown reasons only shows the multi colored Windows Media Player icon even though the view setting is on thumbnail?
Thank you.

Is this problem happening only in this one folder? Can you view thumbnails for other folders that contain graphics?

Good question, it seems to be occurring in folders with music or video files, but not in folders with graphic files where the thumbnails work fine.

You think this might be related to your other post on file extensions changing?

The link to the other post is below.

Mercury, your response #14 in that thread indicated you installed Firefox. There are many add ons included. Despite what you stated there, I suspect that either Firefox add ons or some other program, most likely a viewer, has taken posession of your media files.

Mercury, Go to the link below and scroll down to line 17 (right column) and click on "Restore Thumbnail Views in XP" to download a fix which is an .exe file. Save it to your hard drive and double click it to run it.

If I was correct that it even did change the extensions as I said that I couldn't be positive, the reason that I even noticed was due to the fact that the thumbnail pics displaying each video had changed to Windows Media Player icons instead, so I only actually presumed that the extensions were changed although I have no way of knowing for sure.
I stated that I try to examine everything to be installed as careful as is possible, although I never stated that FireFox wasn't responsible for changing anything I stated that it was the only recent install however I do not know if the events coincide, as I have know way of knowing that at present which is why I had asked the question.
I did uninstall FireFox and check to see if there were any changes although to no avail so I re-installed and also tried disabling and enabling addons that were available also resulting in no effect.

Thank you very much Tufenuf, that fixed the problem and everything is working fine again, was wondering if Kelly had a tweak for that, much appreciated and to everyone for there help as well.
Thank you.
