Thinkpad T22 keeps turning self off

Hi. In the last month or so, I've noticed that my IBM Thinkpad T22 decides to just shut itself off. It doesn't discriminate on what application I'm running etc. Sometimes it will shut itself off during the boot sequence into windows XP. I initially thought it had something to do with the battery so was just using the a/c adapter, however this behaviour has now started when on a/c power as well. When I enter into the bios, an error message does pop up before moving into the bios menu. I've just downloaded the latest bios update from IBM. ...does anyone else have a possible diagnosis?

Just a thought, check the air vents for dust, I have had to clean them with a Vac cleaner and the round brush attachment.

Did you have any luck resolving this? I have the exact same problem. The vents are clean (!) and I'm going to remove the battery to see if it makes any difference (it's pretty shot anyway), but I was wondering how you were getting on.
