i know that the sims will not work on xp, but what driver do i need to get it to work. (please help!!) THANK YOU!!!

It works just fine on my XP computer and I haven't had to do anything special to get it to work. The only problem I have is getting my daughters off the computer once they start playing it. You might want to try uninstalling it, then reinstalling and see what happens.

Works here too, actually more stable than on ME.The game is traditionally buggy however.Have you checked their site??

Same here - The Sims on XP works better than it ever did with ME.
What is the problem you are experiencing?
You didn't give us a lot to go on.

Can't get them started also.I have tried reinstalling but no luck.Everywhere I looked "no problem with sims.
It just doesn't start, can it be direct x problem?

It dosent seem to work with me neither it only says that 'the sims have encounted a problem and needs to close' at first i thought it was something to do with my comp but i still cant see were it is going wrong.

I have the same problem with the Sims and Age of Empires II, The Kings. Installs fine, but crashes when I try to play it. Setup screen for both games comes up fine. Compatibility mode, newer video drivers, DirectX reinstall, safe mode drivers, lower/higher resolution have no effect.
System is a natively installed Win XP, Amd XP 1900, 512 mb, 2 40GB disks, GeForce4 440 mmx.
It might be useful to correlate what all graphics adapters people have.
I've installed every Critical Update from MS as well and tried patch 1.1 for Sims and 1.0c for AOE.
