Ok I have done a system restore and now when I go to the Start button on the botton of the screen and the menu pops up there is no Shut Down button. There is just the button for the Log Off. I would appriciate it if you would help me. Thx.

Borrowed answer from someone else :-)

Google: XP Powertoys

Download TweakUI or whatever it's called now.

I believe there's an option in there to remove the logoff and shutdown buttons.

Also, you could always map your power button to whatever option via the power control panel option.
