Hello everybody. I receive this error when I try to even only see the "Member Of" tab in the user properties of any user (Computer Management console, users).
"The following error occured while attempting to read the properties for the user Admin: " "The Server service is not started."
I have not any kind of "Server" service, neither in my XP pro nor 2000 pro. I suspect it only resides in win2k server. But why does it then affect to user group policy? Btw, I changed Everyone permissions in C:\ by Authenticated users. But I still have not any server service. thanks.

Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. Scroll down to Server and be sure it's started. Go to properties and under startup type see if it's disabled, manual or automatic.
