I had set my default view to List View (In Folder Properties/View. But I need some of the folders to display it as Large Icons. So I go and right-click/view/large icons. It's Ok for while. I close window and open it again and it's all right. But after a while, it's gone back to the default view. Same with Arranging.
Is there any way I can fix it, so it wont change back?

In Folder Options/View do you have Remember Each Folder's View Settings chacked?

What I do is open a folder and go to Folder Options. I select list view and Use This View Setting For All Folders. Then all folders default to list view until I change the view in another folder. That way I can have some folders displaying thumbnails and others icons.

Hope this helps,
Ted.

Yes, I have "Remember Each Folder's View Settings checked". And I do the same thing, set all folder to List View, and then change some of them to Icon View. The problem is that the ones I set to different, change to default after a while, i.e. List View.

I had the same problem, but worked out what I was doing wrong.
If I wanted to change the view of icons in My Documents for instance I was going to "Start" then "My Documents" then changing the views from there. This is wrong, you must go to "My Computer" then choose the folder you want to change the icon views.
