Spybot S&D
works best for me as I've tried the others

Actually the new free MS program came out on top in comparisons. http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

Or you could just stop using Internet Explorer. Eliminate the vector, eliminate virtually all spyware.

"which one do you think is the best that would protect you from everything especially trojans and worms"
Spyware and Adware removal programs are not antivirus programs! They will not protect you from viruses, trojans or worms.

AdAware is good, and you should keep it. Is more oriented toward adware and spyware, although the line between them is diffuse at best. As per says, the new MS program, called Microsoft AntiSpyware oddly enough,is reputed to be quite good. It's found things on my machine that others didn't. It's free, and you can download it from MS. There's yet another program that's NOT free called Scan Spyware ($30) that finds things on my machine that no other program finds. You can get it free but you can't get rid of the things it finds in the free version, and some of them are embedded so you can't get at them yourself. AND be sure your AV program is current and that you run it often. And be sure you update all these other things at least weekly and run them as often.

So to summarize: AdAware, Spybot, Scan Spyware, MS AntiSpyware, and your regular AV programs. That should keep you pretty well cleared out. If you need links to the downloads, let me know.

In regards to trojans and worms, im afraid IAMC is right ( and never again heh ) Internet Explorer is too popular, hence a more delicious target (then other browsers) especially because its installed as the default browser for the windows operating system. For a decent "online" defense, you need a good firewall, anti-spyware/adware/malware the list goes on, and antivirus...(anti-getonline) as well as a knack for research and looking into both sides of the equation. Install, Install, Install.....Till the harddrive gets smaller and the corporations get richer. And on we go. So far I do not know of one single program that exist to adequetly find and completely remove all (PRESENT) forms of spyware/adware/malware/browser hijackers/virus/trojan/worm/, etc (where's the money in that?)
