Reply: (edit)If it is XP you are asking about then the latest official service pack is XP SP2 and you should stick with that. XP SP3 is probably still in beta test so best avoid until it is formally issued. ___________________________________________

Reply: (edit)If you are doing mission critical kind of stuff, then SP2. If you want the latest and greatest, SP3. 2 flavors currently out, pre-release, and the beta. Both contain alot of fixes for SP2. The pre-release does have a few bugs though.

Reply: (edit)Since SP's are usually written so that the latter is a superset of the former .... you shouldn't really compare them the way you are. Also, as hinted above .... SP3 is a work in progress with planned revisions till launch date: therefore, my suggestion is, you best be very careful with its deployment on your production machine.
