This is actually a question that my grandma asked me, I told this to my aunt and she suggested right click, properties...and something else which i forgot.

But anyway my grandma's house was hit by lightning and the computer was on and messed it up.She had to get it fixed and when it came back it worked but all the text was very small that you could barely see it and the desktop icons were gone. Not to mention all or most of her programs were erased.

So i was wondering if you guys know a simple solution to get the text to a more normal size? i figure it may have to do with the resolution or something. And also if you know how to get the desktop icons back the the desktop?

Reset your resolution. The files are gone because they replace your hard drive. This is why we do backups.

To reset you resolution Right Click on your desktop (They area with the picture behind your icons) -> Then click on Properties -> Then Select the Last Tab on the right called Settings. -> Then reduce your resolution by dragging the scroll bar to the left.
