terrible problem

i have a compaq fs740 w/ celeron windows xp i dont know if that helps but anyways i dont know what happend but my sisters computer cought a virus and it crashed her computer so bad that not evan reformating workes so its trash and so i think its passing threw the lan to mine but mine doesnt do the same thing she does first it started out whn i was playing gta2 and then suddenly it said my computer errored and but be shutdown with a big blue screen so it shutdown so then about 30 mins later i decided to try it again and about 15 mins of talking to my friends on aim it crashed again with the same message now when i boot up my computer the desktop wont show up which is a pain in the @$$ so i have to use task manager to do anything like now... wich is real crumy anybody know if they can help? cuase i honestly dont know whats going on... thanks

oh yeah i didnt know what os was mines windows xp i think home and im not very computer savy and i dont know my ram

1- run a antivirus program, some scans are availabel on net
2- may try system restore to the point before the problem and then run antivirus
