Comment:

When I logged on, my user profile was 'corrupted' and therefore Windows created a temporary one for me to log into. I logged into this, and copied the 'ntuser.dat' file from the Administrator Documents and Settings\Username folder, into my Documents and Settings\Username folder.

I then logged out, and back into, and my profile was working fine again and My Documents was showing as it should. While I was logged back in, I deleted the Unknown or temporary file from the window that shows from right clicking my computer then clicking user profiles.

When I later logged out, and back in to my shock all the directorys and files in 'My Documents' had vanished, all 5 GB of my data!

How can I restore or locate my original 'My Documents' and get my 5 GB of data back?

Thanks in advance...

Jim.

Why not, it was mainly photos and videos!

Anybody got any ideas to help me restore or locate my original 'My Documents', they must still be on the hard drive somewhere, all of my files couldn't have just gone without some kind of warning message...
