Comment: Files in C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp\ are safe to delete, correct? Because they are just temporary files? Also, is there any way to increase the amount of space allowed for temporary files? Thanks in advance!

Reply: (edit)You are almost right . Well 99 % of files in Temp are safer to delete , but some of them may contain necessary information about your current session , so it is advisable to create a restore point of your system before doin this

Reply: (edit)All and any files in the Temp directory are safe to delete. If a file is in use by the OS it will simply not allow you to delete it at the moment. It will inform you the file is in use. You can increase/decrease your Temporay Internet folder, as for the Temp folder. I would not worry about it, it will just continue to grow and grow and grow. The temp directory doesn't work as it should, this is why you get ton's of junk in there. KTTD
