My mother has an ibm think pad with a TEAC DW-224E CD-RW / DVD player. The strange thing is that the drive will recognise some data cds and not others (I checked that they are regular cds and not DVDs). It will not recognise any audio CDs. I cant seem to find a driver page for the device to download a newer driver. Any ideas on how to get the thing working?

Also get yourself a Cleaning CD. It is a CD that has
tiny brushes on it that cleans your drive head.
