I am having trouble with TD Waterhouse/Live Streaming and BNN (which are on the same page). TDW’s Service Support people helped me install Java (Level 7), apparently anything over that level could be overkill, and cause problems.

It worked fine for nearly a week, and in the last 3 days – after the computer has been on for about ½ hour, and I start up the Streaming/BNN page it just freezes, and I cannot remove that page – so I have had to REBOOT for the past 3 days. After the reboot, it works fine for the rest of the day.

I was again speaking to another TDW Support person, and they confirmed that my Java Level 7, and also the current form of Adobe is fine. The only thing they thought they might perhaps change was: to download: www.mozillafirefox.com and to use this site instead of Google for the Webbroker Select.

Tboy, streaming video working in jerks & spurts or not at all is a symptom of either a slow (congested?) connection or a lack of memory.
Since it works as it should sometimes and a reboot seems to help, I'm thinking it's memory. Suspect you simply need to purge your 'temp' files. That's done on a reboot.
Another thing you might try (not likely causing, but might be contributing) is a file called 'index.dat'.
A common ailment is a file called 'index.dat'. It gets read every time and can take quite a while if it’s too bloated. It's like a log file and keeps a record of every site you visit on the web. Empty, it's 32K, but it can grow HUGE. It's a protected file and can't be deleted by normal methods. CCleaner (free @: http://www.ccleaner.com/) can get rid of it (not to worry, it gets rebuilt EMPTY on the next boot.).
HTH.
