I logged on my computer and my taskbar and icons were missing. The only thing showing is my wallpaper. I can use the task manager to open apps and go on the internet. I already used NAV, Spysweeper and Ad-aware SE, yet there was no treat. I also try to repair Windows but didn't work. Safe mode does the same thing. No taskbar and the background is black. Please help me out i feel like i've done everything but still nothing work.

djay, SWAG, take a look @ view>toolbars and be sure you haven't inadvertantly set things to be invisible.

Try runing Explorer.exe in the Task Manager and see if your Icons and Task bar reappears... Else try system restore... now since you have tried a repair, i am not sure if system restore would work, but its worth a try... This is the path for system restore:
c:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
Let us know if it worked.

Well Djay,
I guess there could be Spywares or Viruses in your Comp... Anyway, the options you have now are doing a Repair Installation of OS, and if that does not work then do a complete reinstallation of OS... Hope the Repair works...
This is the link that shows how to do a Repair installation:

This is the link that shows how to do a Complete Reinstallation:

Hope it helps and let us know what happens.

Djay;
You might try one thing before going too far.
It sound silly, but what the heck.
Move your mouse down to the bottom of the screen and see if you get vertical sizing arrows.
If you do, just drag up, and resize the taskbar.
If you've already tried this, oh well. Just a thought.

I followed all the insttuction on the site
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;318027 didn't work either.Did you try all of the three methods prescribed in the referenced MSKB, specifically:
Method 1: Troubleshoot by Starting Windows with a Minimal Set of Drivers;
Method 2: Create a New User Account, and
Method 3: Repair Windows XP
?
Surely one of the above methods would have worked for you.
