Subject: Task Manager won't open...OS: Windows XP HomeCPU/Ram: 2.4Ghz/256RAM |
Comment: My Task Manager absolutely refuses to open. I have tried the shortcuts (CTRL+ALT+DLT, CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and I have tried going to the start bar and running program "taskman.exe", and nothing happens. It sounds like a virus (I have been having some problems with the BHO lately), but I have been using Microsoft Antispyware and XoftSpy, and I have been getting most of that removed... Oh, another strange thing is most viruses block both the registry editor and the task manager, but I can open the registry editor just fine, it's just the task manager that is being blocked...

Reply: (edit)Hello Mesich, I tried installing the registry key on line 275 (Lift Restrictions - TM, Regedit and CMD), and it installed successfully. I tried to open the task manager again to no avail, so then I went to line 51 and clicked on "Enable The Task Manager", and checked the registry files listed, and none of them existed on my computer... Any ideas? Thanks, Jared
