Task bar icons not auto hiding

I cannt get the task bar icons to auto hide. I have right clicked on the task bar and clicked properties and selected auto hide but still does not work. Does anybody have any ideas.

When you check the box for hiding, the CUSTOMIZE button will become active. Press that and you can then select which icons you want to hide and which you don't..
