I turned off system restore on my two extended partitions but kept it on my System partition but I still can't delete the SVI folders on my extended partitions, one of which is 1GB in size, any ideas?
TIA.

SVI will remain to be locked until you disable SR altogether. As an FYI, the main purpose of SR is to monitor only the system partition or drive. Also, be aware that SR is not a backup utility.

Thanks, I actually use Ghost 9.0 and write my system partition to a DVD so I don't really need SR, I'll turn it off and try deleting the SVI folders tonight.
Thank You.

Need more info. You cant delete because when you try you get an error saying another program is using it?

If so, try booting to safe mode and deleting it.

You can also use a program called dellater (google it)but i think its strictly for deleting (files) during preboot not (folders).

When all eles fails you can move your files to a different partition or cd/dvd and then format the partition with the troublesome folder.

Once you turn off SR the folder will be emptied. The empty folder will contain zero bytes.
