system32\drivers\pci.sys HELP!

I'm working on a Compaq 17XL360 laptop and am getting an error at boot up "system32\drivers\pci.sys" I have another problem though, this laptop does not have access to the floppy drive because it is swapable with the CD rom drive. You can only use one or the other at one time. Please help! Thank you in advance, James

ok no problem you can creat a bootable cd rom if you instal the cdrom into your laptop ok and you can do it from the other computer REMEMBER if you install windows 98 use 98 bootable cd ok

Faisa, I'm using the WinXP CD, after it asks to press any key to boot from cd i do so, afterwards i press f2 to run the recovery console.. then it asks for windows automated system recovery disk. when do i do? Thanks, James
