Hi there...
I`ve just recieved my new Dell Dimension 8300. I`m having the problem of my System32 folder opening up when I log on to Windows.
I`ve read various threads regarding this and it seems to be machine specific. I have used Hijackthis and recieved a log file.
I have already run Ad-aware which picked up the following registry entries:
ArchiveData(auto-quarantine- 14-03-2004 13-43-09.bckp)
======================================================ALEXA

obj[1]=RegData : Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\SettingsI`m aware that the first one, "Alexa" has been a dialer..I think.
Norton Antivirus and Internet Security have not picked anything up.
Anyones help in fixing this realy annoying problem would be greatly appriciated.
Regards
Gary.

Dang, replied too fast...
Have you told windows to startup with your open windows from a previous session?
That would be my guess...try closing the window, open another one, say my documents, and reboot, what happens?
