No, I first switch off the power and take out the power connector.

No I first switch off the power and remove the power cord. After inserting the processor I connect the power chord and the switch on the power. Thereafter the computer will boot and work properly. When shut down the copmuter and again power it on, it fails to boot and screen remains blank.

Maybe a bad or dirty motherboard socket, or CPU. Try blowing out the MB socket with compressed air or contact cleaner and cleaning the CPU with alcohol and a soft brush or contact cleaner. Turn off the power supply in back but don't unplug it from the wall. This will keep the 'ground' intact and avoid static buildup which can damage the CPU....Hope this helps

My earlier statement was because your post was stated as if you were doing that with the power on.
Sounds that maybe you have a loose connection. Maybe what to do is to polk around inside the computer with the power on. Use a non-metallic object like a wood pencil to push against parts and connections lightly to see if computer would start by doing that.

I agree with Chuck. If just removing power doesn't help, it almost has to be a poor connection on the motherboard. Try reseating the motherboard power connector.

I have number of times cleaned the motherboard and cpu by blowing out compressed air but the problem remains the same. As suggestedby you I pressed the CPU box with insulated pencil it did boot but agaan failed when tried to reboot without pressing the cpu What could be the problem

Well the odds are extremely high that there is a flaky connection on the motherboard. if it was me, I would replace the motherboard.

Just a thought... Did you check that none of the pins on your processor were bent? All the pins need to be pointing down straight. Do you have any other processors you can try with it? Or another PSU possibly?
