I know there is a way to disable this box when you shutdown that says "This system is shutting down. Please save all work in progress and logoff." I have had it disabled before but had to reformat and now can't remember how. Any help is greatly appreciated as this is rather anoying.

Hi ... Its sounds like you have the W32.Blaster.Worm , have a look at this website and see as to whether that is whats showing on your screen

If so then have a look at this too from Norton

Yes I do it starts at 30 seconds. I do not have any worm or virus. The shutdown is initiated by me the user. Whenever I select restart or shutdown I get this anoying box that makes me wait. I understand why. In the space between the message and the countdown clock there is no reason listed. I know this can be disabled as I have done it before I think it was some sort of patch or boot.ini file or something I just can't remember. Getting old lol.
