hi, i am getting this message every time i am on the net, its appears at different intervals of being online, it basically comes up in a window titled SYSTEM SHUT DOWN, PLEASE SAVE ALL CHANGES.THIS SHUT DOWN BY NT AUTHORITY \ SYSTEM. WINDOWS MUST NOW RESTART BECAUSE THE REMOTE PROCEDURE CALL HAS UNEXPECTEDLY TERMINATED.and basically thats it, the whole PC re-boots, and basically its a pain in the ass. Does anybody know what this is and how do i get rid of it, as surfing is very difficult to do in 10 minute intervals.Please help.

Sounds exactly like the blaster virus. Run this and get rid of it. You should run your AV scan anyway, as well as AdAware and Spybot regularly.

Hi guys listen thanks for the hel pbut one problem i went to the first link you sent my, the synaptic instructions to get rid of the blaster worm, i followed the instructions up to the part where it says ctrl.alt.delete and in process find the line MSBlast.exe, it simply isnt there, so what do i do now, do i actually have the virus or could it be something else, any advice would be greatfull, oh yeah also i dont have any AV programs, i know its silly but i just dont.

Notice it says 'if' it's there. If it's not, it's not. Do everything else. If you don't know what you're doing in the registry, don't. And back up your registry if you're inclined to do anything.
Yes, it is silly. Get one! At least go to one of the free ones like House Call, and run a scan on your machine.
Also get AdAware and Spybot while you're at it. They're FREE!

thanks salgolf, listen i will do what you say there, to be honest i am a bit of a novice at this, but on a better note i have a free 3 month trial cd of norton anti virus i am just installing it as we type so hopefully that could sort it out, but i need another favour could you just check back to this message string as i might need more advice if it doesnt, would that be ok? i really appreciate your help.Will keep you posted on what happens.Thanks Again.Conskee

hi salgolf ok here goes, i installed norton, and got the latest download, and scanned my system, i got 3 virus's, 1st on is DLLHOST.exe and is named W32.Welcia.Worm
the 2nd one is mslaugh.exe and is named w32Blaster.E.Worm, and finally the 3rd one teekids.exe and is called W32.Blaster.C.Worm, now what happend is Norton tried to repair them but it then said it recommends a quarantine and it did this successfully with the 2nd and 3rd of them but DLL.HOST.exe it said it couldnt quarantine it and it closed itself, and i went back into the process of the pc and its still there, could you advise me on what to do about this?hopefully you are still about friend.Thanks.
