I recently had to repair my XP installation because a boot file was corrupt. So I followed the directions I found on the interent to replace the corrupt file and it seemed to work fine, however it said after that my computer would not be the same as it was and to make it the same I would need to use System Restore. I have used this application before and created a restore point before on that computer, but now I go into it, chose "Restore my computer to an earlier time" and when I get to the next screen, there are no blod dates, and I cant even go back to previous months, it basically doesnt let me click on anything.... but I thought XP was supposed to automatically create restore points and I remember creatin one myself a while ago, anyone have any ideas??? Thanks...

is it possible you disabled this to get rid of a vrius or something?

If you did a repair install I believe that will erase all the restore points, The error message you got is a new tone to me, is that exactly what it gave you?

does your computer seem to be running fine right now...if so i wouldnt worry about it to much

No, my computer seems to be ok by apearance, but all the motherboard, audio and video drivers are gone and nothing really works, all my hardware is lacking the software that makes it run and im having trouble finding some of my installation CDs so its becoming a problem..... and there was no error message there just wasnt one restore point even though Windows is supposed to create them automatically and I have created one in the past and that is supposed to be available forever.... So im confused, more help would be much appreciated
