Is this system unit a client on a TCP/IP domain with a primary domain controller?

Would you know what I was talking about if I made reference to your SAM?

(i.e. Security Account Manager)

Check out the following site. It is Kelly Theriot, a Microsoft MVP and all the items shown are Registry fixes.
Scroll down to number 289, right hand side. Download and run. This may fix your problem.
