System Restore wont work

At first when I attempted to find a restore point, they had disappeared, a short time later when I tried to access system restore, I get a window that says system Restore has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry.... Please Help

Go to the following site. It is Kelly Theriot's, a Microsoft MVP. Scroll down to #278 left hand side. These are all Registry fixes, may help. Back up your registry to be on the safe side.
