I wanted to try a system restore on my win xp pro, but all the system restore points are gone except one! I´ve tried system restore before and it worked just fine. This occured after installing the following windows update (using windows update): "26 June 2002 Cumulative Patch for Windows Media Player (Q320920)". The point when i installed this is now the only system restore point. What happened to all the previous restore points?
Did you perform a disk cleanup with the exception of the latest restore point?

If you have multiple hard drives, each of them that you are monitoring with system restore must have at least 200 mb or else it will not work at all. You will lose all of your restore points except one, and it will not work either. You can turn off sys restore for individual drives.

The system restore is active - it always is. Does disc cleanup have anything to do with it? And yes i did have a unexpected shutdown - that is the pc "hanged" and I had to turn it of using the button. By how does that connect to the system restore???

Q283096 on the Microsoft site did not help at all - i did not have a shutdown during system restore. But because of an unexpected shutdown - which may have been caused by som other software I installed - I wanted to do a sytem restore to a point before that. But all system restore points are gone!!!
