system restore not working

system restore will not work. it is switched on and creating daily restore points but will not restore back to any of them.can anyone help?

Do you have Norton anti virus? If you do then you have to disable a couple things for system restore to work.

I had the same problem and found a solution for my case.

I have Norton AntiVirus 2006 and found out that it was the one stopping my Windows restoration.

The steps I used:
1. Open Norton AntiVirus.
2. Click Options.
3. Select Norton AntiVirus from the list.
4. Click Miscellaneous.
5. Go to How to Protect my product.
6. Remove the check mark on "Turn protection on for my Symantec product."
7. Start System Restore and select the restore point.

It was a successful operation for me and I wish you luck on your system too.

After a successful restoration, I just checked the option (Step 6) again.
