I don't seem to have system restore in XP My machine is 3 yrs. old and I don't have any of the discs that came with the computer. How can I add System Restore?
Look under General tab and click the Launch System Restore button.
Or
Start>Help and Support then click Performance and Maintenance (left side) the click Using System Restore to undo changes.

Thanks so much for your reply. I have done that but when I try to launch System Restore, I ge an error message saying: System Restore is not able to protect your computer. Please restart your computer and launch System Restore again.
No matter how many times I launc System Restore I get the same message. Someone else asked me to search for a file called sr.inf (I may have the .inf wrong) but I don't have the file he asked me to search for.

I think that if you contacr HP they will help you in that area? Possibly send you a suitable set - maybe for a wee sum (a few pennies)?
