I am operating XP Prof with SP2 but I don't have System Restore. The System Properties lists 6 tabs but no System Restore.

Thanks, XPUser. I am looking into the link you suggested and since this gets pretty technical, I'm going to pass it on to my oldest son to digest.
Hopefully it will restore that function.
Thanks again.

After goin through, step-by-step, when I get to item 2. (renaming folder) I get a message saying Access Denied. So I can't rename the folder in order to hide it from the process and I still don't have a System Restore.
By the way, I sent the link to my son and he advised me to try it, step-by-step, which I did - nothing tricky but adding a user name to the Security tab of the System Volume Information confused me for a couple minutes.
Any other ideas?
Anyone?
Paul
p.s. Would this problem go away if I reinstalled the XP OS?
