Ever since I have installed SP2 my system restore has stopped working. It still creates restore points, but after reboot, it said the restoration fails. I have tried all my restoration points with no success. I also tried disabling system restore, restart, enable restore, and I still have no success. I have scanned for viruses w/ NAV, tried SFC /SCANNOW, downloaded windows update, etc. Can anyone please help?
Doug

Maybe check Dells website for any issues.
----------------------
Just to say, some Windows Updates can cause other problems to happen in XP. For example:
If I install the IE 6 Update Q832894, I then find that all the Help Topics were gone in Windows HELP Index. All came back when I removed
"Internet Explorer Q832894"
from Add/Remove Programs list.SP2 has that update also.
----------------
Using System Restore too many times can cause
more harm than good. After doing a restore
that does not fix a problem, then UNDO the
Restoration.
-----------------
Spyware info.from MicrosoftMaybe check for, and remove SpyWare before SP2.

MS No charge Support for XP Service Pack 2This article may get bigger as more
problems are found with SP2.

I've said it before...
In my opinion System Restore is a complte waste of system resource and space.. Not to mention your time..
I disable my restore. In the past restore has always failed.... Why? If a virus or spyware makes itway into it, It will corrupt the archive.. THus not restoring at all.
