Hi, a couple of problems.
First of all I have recently noticed that certain web pages aren't showing all content. There are bits missing on certain websites such as Menu bars etc.
Also when I try to visit Search from my start menu, the window comes up but there is nothing in it, there is usually the boxes for your search to go in but there's nothing, the only thing in the screen is that 'dog'.
This has all started since yesterday so i decided to do a system restore, but when i clicked on System Restore from start menu the hour glass comes up for about a second then nothing happens, when you do it again the window comes up but again there's nothing in it.
This is getting very frustrating and haven't a clue how to resolve it. Any help would be brilliant. Thanks.

Hi:
have you tried Start ,Run ,Sfc /Scannow
& if it doesn,t work for ya what about the Repair Option of WinXP !!!
Bon Courage..

there is another thing you can do- if you go to run and type cmd then in that screen type chkdsk /p /r and hit enter windows will do a check the next time it starts

Hi and thanks.
I have tried the first sugestion sfc /scannow but it requires the windows xp cd for this and i didn't get one with the PC as i bought it second hand.
I am going to try the second one now but do i need win xp cd for this also?
