If a process can't report to the event viewer it might be possible that it still can report to a dump log. See MS site on how to setup and read dump logs. If no dump logs point to issue then get a diag suite. Suspect would be basic component of system. Mem under 1M, processor or supporting chipset, possible voltage issue. I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

It says I/O device error on CD-ROM... My first bet would be that your CD drive is faulty. Try unplugging it and run the machine for some time, if it doesn't happen again, buy a new drive. G'luck! If I connect my microwave to my PC, will I be able to download food? I posted a question, haha
