Athlon 2000+, Asus A7V333, 512Mb Crucial DDR RAM, 120Gb Maxtor HD, Tornado Geforce2 MX, Pioneer DVD, Creative SB Live!, Windows XP Professional.
My system reboots itself during games, and when I attempt to rip CDs with CDex. It is entirely stable under Windows. I replaced the PSU with an Enermax 350W model and the problem has persisted; likewise the DVD drive. The CPU is fitted with a Volcano 9 HSF, and the temperature never exceeds 50 degrees so i don't think overheating is an issue. Quake 3 tends to freeze after 5 minutes or so with a buzzing 'frozen sound' noise. DirectX 9 is installed. Battlefield 1942 runs with no problems whatsoever. Morrowind, Wolfenstein, Sacrifice etc crash, especially during video sequences and at the end of loading intervals. I've tried using memory modules individually, and switching sockets, neither makes a difference.

Sounds like the same problem with a couple of amd processors i own. It's annoying to no end trying to troubleshoot them. I'm going to try a BIOS upgrade this weekend, I'll keep you posted.

I have the same problem. I am running a Pentium 4, 2.4gigz on a P4T533-C ASUS Motherboard with 512mb of RD RAM and also have 400watts ATX power supply. The Graphic card that I am using is a LEADTEK WINFAST A250 ultra TD which is a GEFORCE 4 TI4600 with 128MB RAM. My OS is WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL updated. The problem I have is that every time I play a game of any kind example (Soldier of fortune 2, Age of mythology) my computer keeps shutting down on me and the power light on the computer keeps on flashing off and on. I also cant turn the computer back on unless I turn the computer power right off of it socket. After I have turned the power off the computer seem to boot up normal. But it does the same thing to me as soon as I am in the middle playing any type of game like the games above. I have asked around for advice but nothing really seems to work. The say it could be that the mother board and the graphic card is not matching or a bios problem in motherboard and graphic card. Or could it just be hard wear which is faulty. I have upgraded my bios on my motherboard but it doesn’t seem to fix the problem. Please help me with this problem as this problem is killing me and have kept me up for days. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Also I have done all the lates driver installments and nothing seem to work. Please help thanks
