System logs off as soon as i log in

OS: Windows XP Home edition
CPU/Ram: Intel pentium 4

System logs me off as soon as i login.

Tried logging in "safe mode" and "most recent working configuration" mode.

Also tried copying userinit.exe to wsaupdater.exe in recovery console.Even that did not work.

I have a legal copy of windows XP.

Please help.

can u tell me how to do that.will i lose data if i do that. i have some imp. data in "my documents" folder.
