Can't collect information. Access denied to Windows Management Instrumentation server on this computer. Have an administrator change your access permissions i have noticed that most of the posts for this are fairly old but i thought someone might be interested. Ok this happened to me the other day, not exactly sure what caused it but i did get it fixed. I had recently removed my internal modem and I noticed the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WBEM\WDM had modem.sys listed and its child key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WBEM\WDM\DREDGE did not have it listed, everything else in those two keys were identical so i deleted the modem.sys record from the first registry key. also under modems in the control panel my modem was still listed as installed so i removed it. Ok so thats the first thing i did that may have fixed it. The second was setting full control permissions on all registry keys for everyone, probably not the best idea if you have multiple user accounts on your computer as they will all have full access. But one of these two things did solve my problem. I cant remember but i may have rebuilt all the wmi files after i changed the security settings.
