Hi, Hope someone can help me, my computher has a weird problem... when i turn it on it states "NTLDR" is missing, and to press ctrl + alt + del to restart... i have created a boot flash drive and used that to get into windows but even that doesn't work every time... the system halts when it trys to find the hard drive for a very long time. When i actually get into windows it isn't usually long before the computer halts and freezes and needs to be restarted to go through the whole thing again. I have tried inserting a windows disk and it can't see anywhere to put the swap drive, i didnt understand this as surely it should see my copy of windows and allow me to repair... Please can someone help before I carry my own 0-60 tests with it out of my window...

When did the issue start occurring? It never has worked or it just started? How long have you had the current installation of Windows?

Is your hard drive making clicking noises? That could indicate that it's dying. Hard to diagnose without being there, but from your description it sounds like a hard drive problem to me.

Insert your XP CD and boot to it. Select the option to Setup XP. Then, select Repair as opposed to a New install. Life is more painless for those who are brainless.
