Put your xp disk in and go to add or remove programs.

ON the left side click the 3 icon add remove windows components.

It will call up your disk and bring up the list.

Go to assessories the first one i think.

Make sure it is checked and go to properties. Make sure games is ticked.

Then hit next. It will reinstall them.

Good LUck

Are you sure you removed the Games themselves ie the actual Programs?

Maybe you ony removed the Shortcuts in the All Progs List ?

The Games themselves are in C:\Windows\System32

If that is what you did then go there - scroll right down to find each one and send a Shortcut to the Desktop and then put them back into the Start\Progs\Games Folder

Lesley, You helped me before. I keep telling people I dont have an XP disk. How could I if XP was factory installed? Anyway, are you talking about right-clicking on the Explore in the start menu, then looking down the list to finding the games folder? I said before, I dont know how to locate something. Every time I go to windows components, you cant tell if it is installed or not because everything has a check mark. I have tried them all. I never had the desktop shortcuts---they were always listed in Games in the All Programs menu, but now only "internet games" show up. I dont know how they got there.

Open My Computer - open the C Drive - open Windows - open System 32

Now - there are a great many Files in here -

Right click in an empty space and do 'Arrange Icons by Name'

Now scroll down carefully and locate each Game - assuming they're there of course - but I can't think you removed them from here

When you locate each one - Right click on it and do 'SendTo Desktop as Shortcut'

When you've done all that - close System 32 - then you'll have five or six Shortcuts - however many it is - on the Desktop

Now do this - Right Click on the Start Button and 'Open all Users' - Open the Programs Folder - open the Games Folder

Now move your window aside (hold left mouse on Title Bar and 'slide') so that you can see those Desktop Shortcuts

Right click on one - keep your finger down and 'drag' it into the open window - let go - say 'Move Here'

Repeat until they are all in there - close window

Now go and look on the all Progs List - Games

If you didn't find those Games in System32 - then I don't know what you did since the Internet ones are still on the Progs List so you couldn't have removed the whole Games Component in Add\Remove

Lesley --- you are a genius. I tried it with freecell because I remembered the name and I just dragged it from the desktop into that folder, then looked on Games in the All Programs and it was there and it opened properly. Hurray!!!! I copied your instructions onto Notepaid so I can keep it. (under my pillow) I never went to My Computer before and I did not know folders were there. What a dope!

Glad you got it sorted - now - do you remember the names of the other Games :

Hearts - Minesweeper - Pinball - Solitaire - Spider Solitaire

If you haven't already then go back and do those

Then it will all be back as it should be!
