System Freezes at bootup

Laptop freezes at startup! Everything loads but can't do anything. If i put my mouse over the bottom of screen, ie start button, system clock, just get busy sand clock. Can anyone help

First try booting to Safe Mode and see what happens there. If things work better, download McAffee's stinger.exe and run to remove viruses.
