Hello,
I have change (disabled) some of the start-up’s in the System configuration utility. When ever a user logs on (they are all roaming profile) a message comes up saying the system configuration has been changed. This comes up every time a roaming profile logs on (the same profile), even when I tick the box ‘don’t display this message again’.

XP SP2, Only happens to roaming profile no problems with local users/profiles

Any help to stop this happening
Thanks

Login as Admin, and check the box that allows you to disable that window from coming up.

I'd check either msconfig or the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run key to make sure it's disabled (not running) there.

Please note that the prompt window usually has a checkbox to select that the window does not appear at the next boot, check the box and select cancel to close the window. If you select OK the config window opens up again and the next boot will have the window appear again.

Remember check the box and select cancel, next boot no window.

Chris, If all other suggestions fail go to the link below, click on "Win XP Fixes" on the left of the page, click on "Disable MSConfig Selective Startup Screen" (left column) then click on "xp_nomsconfig.vbs" to download a vbs file. Instructions for running it are on the page.
