At the risk of starting WW3 here, I'm curious to know peoples thoughts on which they prefer & why. I've been using Zonealarm for ages but have just read on the Vizualzone website that the analyser doesn't support XP - maybe it's a good opportunity to try Sygate or something new.

The free Zone Alarm works very well for me, also. Repeated tests / scans of ports, show they are stealthed....so it seems to work fine.

I've used za, now I use sygate. I don't think there is much difference between the 2. I think it's down to personal preference which one to choose.

I've always used ZA also until I had to install a VPN (virtual private network). I discovered that za really interfered with the network, so I thought I would try Sygate. Sygate and the VPN co-existed beautifully, so I have kept it in. Other than that, I find the 2 products to be very similar. The latest version of ZA has, in my opinion, had a few bugs.
