I had a dual boot, win98/xp, and wnated to remove the 98 part. I screwed up and deleted the whole c: drive, not just the windows directory (the only directory there, anyway). So then, of course, nothing would boot, so I reinstalled xp, however, i did do in a diferently named file, to preserve my old xp install. How do I tell the computer to boot to the old copy of xp, and how do I remove the new one? Or, can it be done?

Right click My Computer. Left click ,Advanced,Properties,Settings(Startup and recovery box),Edit. You will now see your Bootup sequence. Read carefully and delete whichever line you don't want.
BE CAREFUL!!!!

Thanks - I did it, and now the proper copy loads. Should I simply delete the file called windows2, which contains the second copy of windows?
