Comment:

I remember I just did it before, setting so that my language switches between English and another language when I press 'only' the TILDE key ~ (and not ALT + SHIFT, or CRTL + SHIFT)

But now I can not remember how to... spent 1 hour trying to figure out how, with no success. Please help...

Thanks

AFAIK All Windows platforms require the use of two hot keys. I believe you may have been using a third party utility that enables you to use the tilde (~) as a single hot-key.

I'm almost 99% sure that I didnt use any thrid party tools to use that option. I'm a type of person who wouldnt install anything on my computer other than for work.

My girlfriend used to fiddle around with it on her computer, and somehow she got it to work. But she couldnt recall how she did it.

Okay... I found out the problem

That's because I wanted to use English and Thai as the keyboard input. However, unlike other languages, the Thai input does not make use of the Accent ` or the Tilde key like the European characters.

To enable the accent key for switching between Thai / English. You have to go to settings > Regional Language and Options > Advance

then select from the drop down list as Thai for non-unicode programs. Apply.

You might have to restart after this.

Hope this might be a useful reference to others in the Future.

After restarting... Go to Settings again > Regional and Language Options > Language > Details > Settings > Key settings > Change key sequence > and check the "Accent" option
