Okay, right now i have a 20G Hard Drive. I just got this new one, 80G Hard Drive and I want to use that one instead of my old one. I want to transfer everything off my 20G Drive onto my new one (80G) and use only that one from here on out. How do I do that?
I know i use an IDE cable and in my hard drive that i bought it also came with a diskette, etc... but how do I successfully get my new hard drive working with my files transfered over?

Depending on what make your new drive is the manufacturers provide programs which you can download and you just follow the wizard help for setting up the new drive or transferring from one to another. If it's a Seagate drive go to their web page and download Disc Wizard 2003. You will have to swop over the jumper pins on the back of the drives making the 80Gb the Master and the 20Gb the slave otherwise you wont be able to transfer.

You can also buy Symantec Ghost software. First, set jumpers for Master (20GB) and Slave (80GB). The 20 GB hdd is the source and the 80GB hdd is the destination drive. Run through disk to disk imaging and, when complete, disconnect 20 GB hdd and make 80GB hdd Master. Remove ghost disk and boot up computer. Imaged 80 GB hard drive should be identical as 20GB hdd.
