Swapping Hard Drives

I currently have two computers one is an AMD 1800 and other is AMD 400 and I want to swap the Hard Drives between the two of em I have all my games (patches upgrades, etc all on the 400mhz and work info on the AMD 1800 is it possible to just change the harddrives between the two computers and everything will be just fine?

I am assuming that you mean the HD with the OS on it.
The only difficulty I have ever had is that you will have to install the drivers that go to the hardware of the machine you are putting it in. This should only be a problem if you are putting an XP operating system onto a machine that has incompatible hardware.
Oh yes, if you don't have the corporate edition of XP, you will have to re activate the software with MS also.
If you don't mean the one with the OS, then there is no prob if the machine is capable of reading the size of the drive you are putting in it.

The Hard drive that has XP as OS will not work on another machine. XP is bound to the Computer it was installed first. I tried this almost a year ago, I had two exactly identical Machines and it did not work at all. No problem to swap a Hard drive with Win9x.
Summary: I realize I am asking a lot of questions here, but I see big potential for a major screw-up (on my part). I've never done this. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Or a link to somep...
