I was forced sometime ago to do a re-install of windows XP pro on top of itself. Ever since i have done this on start up i get one of two things happen
1) I get a cant create swap file. Please go and create a new swap file in the system->Advanced tab. This never works even if i try and move the partition that the swap is on.
2) the system hangs after log on. This then takes 20 mins to get past the log on screen or i hit the ctrl-Alt-Del combo and get in. In either case i still dont have a swap file.
I regularly do a virus scan and this comes up clean so that not the issue.
Any ideas how i can fix this without having to do a format and a full re-install
