I have a got a problem. When I start up Windows XP pro, it will take just a few moments until it slows down really much. I can see that it is a program called "svchost.exe" running in four copies and that one of them steals 100% of the systems resources!! What can I do to fix this? Have anyone had the same problem? I've scanned for viruses and removed all recent installed software...What shall I do?

Svchost.exe is a generic host process name for services that are run from dynamic-link libraries (DLLs). At startup, Svchost.exe checks the services portion of the registry to construct a list of services that it needs to load. There can be multiple instances of Svchost.exe running at the same time. Each Svchost.exe session can contain a grouping of services, so that separate services can be run depending on how and where Svchost.exe is started. This allows for better control and debugging.

Or.....................

CodeBlue - is the Internet worm targeting Web sites by affecting Internet Information Servers (ISS). The worm realizes the method of spreading from Web site to other Web sites by sending and executing its EXE file. Note that this worm uses standard Win32 EXE file names, SVCHOST.exe and HTTPEXT.DLL.

Check Symantec's Anti-Virus website for more info.

Now I've found that if I disable the DHCP client in Ms config, the system run almost without problems. The only problem is that I can't connect to the Internet any longer! Does anyone know how to solve that?
