Hey.

When my computer boots up everything seems fine, until it starts to load the desktop icons. Then the taskbar freezes and It becomes extremely slow. I can't click on the task bar at all. I can only click on the desktop icons. I also have no internet.

I have downlaod the Fixblast app to find and delete the "worm" the is in Svchost.exe but it didn't find anything. I tried deleting the file manualy but it won't let me. So I tried booting into dos and deleteing it from there but I can't access the "C" drive. I have been reading lots of posts from people with the same problem and trying to use there solutions but it's not working.

Can anyone please help??

Matt

may be you can reinstall your pc. But before it you need to back up your data. To reinstall you don't just install it but before that format your drive first and install yous OS.

Any running application can NOT be deleted, additionally svchost.exe IS a valid system file IF it is located in C\:WINNT(Windows)\system32\.

Go through "Start\Search\Files & Folders", search for svchost.exe. Note the location of any files it finds, if other than the above mentioned location, it's definitely a virus (update your virus def's and scan or do an online scan).

SVCHOST is a generic process which acts as a host for processes that run from DLLs rather than EXEs. IF only the one occurence of "svchost" shows up download AdAware and SpyBot Search & Destroy, get their updates, run them and delete everything they find.

Let us know what happens. We'll try to go farther if neeeded.

PS: Post #1 is a last resort! Plenty of options b4 we get that drastic.
