I have a virus and I can't get on the web. I want to reformat my hard drive and use firefox instead. I want to go from DOS to the web. Can I do this?

Get a friend (or yourself after you do a clean install) to burn you a live cd. They don't get virus's and never get hacked that I know of (yet)>.
Lynx and I think Arachne work in dos, Firefox will not.
The reformat clean install and text browser will not prevent a virus.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, are in my top 10
